YouveGotETH.github.io wins the Dappathon!

You've Got ETH won the community prize at the Dappathon.  Here's an article from Forbes magazine talking a little bit about it. You've Got ETH  is a tool that allows you to send ethereum to any email address.  The idea is that it's more powerful to evangelize the ecosystem by sending Ethereum such that the end user has an incentive to figure out wallets, private keys, and smart contracts. Send Ethereum to any Email Address w. YouveGotETH.github.io

I built a tool called You've Got ETH this weekend at the Dappathon.  It's a tool that allows you to send ethereum to any email address.  The idea is that it's more powerful to evangelize the ecosystem by sending Ethereum such that the end user has an incentive to figure out wallets, private keys, and smart contracts. Here's a demo video. Code is available via MIT Liscense at https://github.com/youvegoteth/youvegoteth.github.io/ Mainnet Read the article >>
Colorado is Beautiful — Timelapse

Colorado is Beautiful — Timelapse

One of my favorite things to do with my SLR since I moved to Colorado is to take timelapses.  Something about watching time pass quickly changes the way I think about the world. I just assembled some of the timelapses I've taken over the last year, and this is what came out.  There's some beautiful stuff in it.  I recommend viewing in full screen.  Check it out:   Read the article >>

Weekend Project: Transcri.pt

Weekend Project: Transcri.pt

One of my frustrations with podcasting at StartupCTO.io has been the lack of any easy-to-use, affordable, transcription tools.    It costs $1/ minute to transcribe audio to text. So I built something better.  Today I am launching transcri.pt - A tool that does transcription of text much cheaper than anyone else can.  The output is pretty good I think. Head on over to transcri.pt and Read the article >>
Side Project Report: Wild Game Hunter VR

Side Project Report: Wild Game Hunter VR

Just in case you thought I went full on Patchouli Boulder Hippy when I announced the MeditationVR game a few weeks ago; I have a *new game* launching today to show off. And it's almost the opposite thematically from the first one! It's called "Wild Game Hunter VR", and it's kind of like those Hunting games you can play in bars (but its in 360 degrees and you can teleport, so it's better). There Read the article >>
StartupCTO.io Job Board

StartupCTO.io Job Board

One of the things that we set out to solve when Miles Matthias and I launched StartupCTO.io podcast was reducing the barrier to entry to becoming an engineering leader.  While the podcast solves, in part, the mentorship part of that equation, there was still a lack of availability of information on leadership positions.  A Job Board was a natural next step for us, and I'm happy to say that we Read the article >>

Side Project Report: Learn Meditation in VR

Today I am launching a side project designed to make meditation easier with VR. SkillMaster VR -- Learn Meditation is the first meditation app that allows you to learn meditation in VR by visualizing your breath in real time. It’s a Virtual Reality experience built specifically to help you meditate by using your game controller to track your breath. Super excited to bring this live in time Read the article >>

StartupCTO.io

A few months ago, I wrote about a podcast I started, called Exec Podcast -- We are a podcast capturing conversations about startup engineering leadership.  Since my post, we've done 20 episodes with local startup leaders.  Today, we are announcing a rebrand; to StartupCTO.io.  The hope is that the clear brand, a refined focus on product quality, interviewee caliber, and professional cover art / Read the article >>
