Kevin Owocki is a community organizer, computer scientist, co-founder of Gitcoin and podcast host at Greenpill.network, a network-society of thousands of hackers, dreamers, and doers focused on using crypto to bring positive digital systems to the world. After completing his BS in Computer Science, Kevin spent 15 years in the world of web2, working in engineering leadership serving as a CTO and founder for open source software and web startups.
Kevin co-founded Gitcoin in 2017 where his vision of a positive-sum ecosystem supported by public goods helped raise and distribute over $62 million to projects in the ecosystem. Gitcoin has grown into a pillar of the Ethereum ecosystem, upon which hundreds of projects rely on for financial support + for marketing. In 2021, Gitcoin DAO launched and Gitcoin Grants relaunched as a suite of modular + decentralized protocols. As of 2024, web3 projects can grow their ecosystem with Grants Stack or Allo Protocol, and Gitcoin Passport.
