Bio

Kevin Owocki is a NYC-based community organizer, computer scientist, co-founder of GitcoinAllo Capital, and Greenpill.network. After completing his BS in Computer Science, Kevin spent 10 years in the world of web2 startups, working in engineering leadership serving as a CTO and founder for open source software and web startups.

Kevin co-founded Gitcoin in 2017 where his vision of a positive-sum ecosystem supported by public goods helped raise and distribute over $69 million to projects in the ecosystem.   Gitcoin’s mission is to “Fund What Matters”, and it has helped to catalyze a movement around the funding of social causes, infrastructure, and other frontier projects.

Since 2017, Gitcoin has grown into a pillar of the open source ecosystem, upon which hundreds of projects rely on for financial support + for marketing.  In 2021, Gitcoin DAO launched and Gitcoin Grants relaunched as a suite of modular + decentralized protocols.  In 2025, Owocki launched Allo.Capital – a bold new extension of Gitcoin’s mission. Allo.Capital is a hybrid research org, software studio, and venture fund. We are catalyzing a network of hackers, thinkers, and doers, to help fund what matters in the 21st century.

As of 2025, 1000s of projects are using Gitcoin’s products to grow their ecosystem with Gitcoin Grants Allo Capital, or Gitcoin Passport.

Kevin’s work has been featured in a TED Talk, Bankless, The Defiant, Yahoo Finance, Vitalik Buterin’s Blog, TechCrunch, Coindesk, CNN, SEDaily, Inc Magazine, The New York Times, BoingBoing, WIRED, Forbes (x2), Blaser Mills, Blockworks, and TechDigest.
