iOS iPhone and iPad Tuning: How to turn off Read Notifications

Read Receipts are the notifications you receive when someone sends you an iMessage.  They allow the sender to know that you’ve read the message.
 

 

To turn them off,

1. Open Settings
2. Navigate to ‘Messages’
3. Tap ‘Send Read Receipts’ so that the button is set to off.
