If you are sent a text or iMessage, your iPhone will by default alert you of the message *twice*. This is often unnecessary, and many users find it annoying. To turn off repeat text alerts<
- Open the Settings app.
- Go to ‘Notifications’
- Go to ‘Messages’.
- Tap ‘Repeat Alert’. Set them to ‘Never’.
A lot of new iPhone users will indiscriminately tap allow every single app that requests notifications to send them. Soon, they are deluged with too many notifications to keep up with. Stop your apps from notifying you from constant alerts with useless information with them. Turn off Notifications by:
Opening the Settings app.

Read Receipts are the notifications you receive when someone sends you an iMessage. They allow the sender to know that you've read the message.
To turn them off,
Navigate to 'Messages'
Tap 'Send Read Receipts' so that the button is set to off.
